| The Burka Hill | | An Oasis for Animals | |
| | The Burka Hill, home to countless species of plants and animals, was nationalized in the 1970’s, and soon became an ecological disaster. The slopes were pilfered for building material and the land eroded due to farming. At the same time, the growing garbage dumps were contaminating the soil and destroying the habitat. After 25 years of efforts, the Burka Hill was returned to Burka Estates almost totally deforested. Today, after years of rehabilitation, the Burka Hill is flourishing with trees and animals, representing a last paradise and wildlife sanctuary in the midst of the city, as well as a perfect vantage point. |
