| | Thanks to the tireless effort of Burka employees, and the goals implemented by the board, the past few years has seen a dramatic increase in wildlife in the form of baboons, vervet monkeys, guinea fowl, Kirk’s dik diks, bush bucks, bush babies, blue duikers, blue monkeys, aardvarks, civet cats, genet cats, porcupines, mongoose, hyrax, and over 120 different bird species. These include the Madagascan Squacco Heron, Giant King Fisher, Augur Buzzards, Silvery Cheeked Hornbills and many more. A large and specially trained group of wardens and watchmen protect these precious wildlife reserves and its inhabitants, to make sure these sanctuaries will be available for future generations. |
