| | 1st Aid services are provided for free to all employees and their families. A Safety & Health Committee has been established which consist of company employees, and ensures that all have access to proper medical care and treatment. Any case needing more intensive care are referred to hospitals, either in Tanzania or if necessary, in Kenya. Costs for such treatments are covered by the company. Further, the Estate employs its own professional ambulance service, which is on call 24 hours a day to guarantee prompt medical services for all staff. |

| | | | | Security | | Safe Working And Living | | The company provides a safe and secure work and living environment to its entire permanent staff, with accessible schooling, medical care and free housing. In addition to onsite 1st Aid care and ambulance services, Burka Estates sets a premium on security. A security team has been established dedicated to the protection of the people, wildlife and natural sanctuaries on the Estates. Burka has its own security force, ensuring safe working and living 24 hours a day, and seven days a week. In addition, the Estates have trained watchmen who guard those protected areas, and natural water springs that make Burka one of the last indigenous wildlife reserves in Arusha. |
