Quality Control Guidelines
As only 3% of Coffee is consumed in Tanzania, most of our sales go to direct export. Due to our elaborate quality control guidelines, 80% of our coffee is deemed export quality. Initially we send green coffee samples to a potential buyer for approval. This stock lot sample once approved allows us to bulk, bag and mark each bag with its unique lot number, allowing maximum traceability. For such samples the internationally recognized SCAA form is used. This results in an indication as to which market the coffee will be sold to.

Long-term Relationships


Since we can trace up to the very day the crop was picked, buyers can pre-order a precise quality in advance, based on the field. We look forward to establishing relationships with specialty coffee traders and importers, and are moving with outright prices to buyers with whom a long term relationship has been established. These prices are linked to the commodity market, thus based on the NYC Coffee Exchange and the quality premiums. The export documents are done by Burka Coffee Estates.
